L-Nucleosides

L-nucleosides are a class of molecules that consist of a nitrogenous base (adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine, or uracil) attached to a sugar molecule (ribose or deoxyribose) in the L-configuration. The L-configuration refers to the orientation of the hydroxyl (-OH) group on the chiral carbon atom of the sugar molecule, which differs from the more commonly occurring D-configuration. The L-nucleosides are mirror images of the D-nucleosides and have different physical and chemical properties.
